Kulture, Typeface design

Kulture is a modern serif typeface that I initially designed as a personal project. The letterforms were inspired from a tiny tea shop just outside Ely in Cambridgeshire. The name Kulture, was derived from the letters being so diverse in their nature, just like all of us. The ‘K’ in Kulture was just a personal touch. 2 years after the initial design, I decided to revive it with minor changes as I felt that it had the potential to be a great typeface.
